VICEROY BALI - A place where time to slows down

Whether it's a romantic holiday, a trip with friends or the whole family - everyone gets their money's worth in this dreamlike resort.

The Viceroy Bali is located in the heart of the island, close to the culturally rich city of Ubud, which is the center of Bali's arts and culture scene. This resort is surrounded by lush jungle and impressive rice fields that can be admired from every corner of the hotel.

We were greeted warmly and driven to our private villa in a golf buggy, with a wonderfully refreshing welcome drink along the way.

If you value a lot of privacy, this is definitely the place for you to be. The Viceroy Bali consists of 40 private villas, of which ten were added in 2020.

All are equipped to a high standard, including an Italian espresso machine and a sound system, so you can enjoy your favorite music while relaxing in the pool.

The Vice Regal Villa left us speechless as soon as we entered. There are two beautiful rooms with comfortable beds on two floors. After opening the large, hand-made, solid wooden door, you not only see the heated pool including a small waterfall, but also some comfortable loungers and a small pavilion, where you can have your breakfast served or simply read a book that you may borrow from the extensive in-house library.

There is also a large garden with sun loungers and a 49 foot infinity pool on site - the perfect spot for taking beautiful holiday photos.

At the pool bar, you can not only enjoy a cool drink, but also the breathtaking view of the jungle, where you can occasionally see a monkey swinging.

If you want even more relaxation, we recommend visiting the Lembah Spa. It is considered one of the best in Ubud and offers a wide range of treatments.

If you still want to do a bit of sport, you can visit the well-equipped fitness center.

The Viceroy Bali also leaves nothing to be desired when it comes to culinary delights. It has two restaurants:

The Cascadas Restaurant, where you can have breakfast, lunch or dinner - traditional dishes are also offered here, as well as a wide selection of wines from many countries around the world.

In contrast, the Apéritif restaurant, which is furnished in a 1920s style, offers high-quality tasting menus personally created by Belgian Executive Chef Nic Vanderbeeken.

Our absolute highlight, which impressed us very much, is the hotels own glass greenhouse, where fresh herbs, tomatoes, aloe vera and many more vegetables and fruits are grown in organic quality.

If you want to arrive by helicopter, this is not a obstacle for this dream hotel, it has his own helipad.

Incidentally, the hotel is also a member of the "Small Luxury Hotels of the World" and is therefore one of the best and most luxurious hotels in the world.
