In the heart of Jimbaran, Bali, just a short drive from the International Airport, lies the Balquisse Heritage Hotel. Built in the 1960s, the hotel has undergone impressive transformations and renovations while retaining its historic foundations. The décor is a fusion of Javanese, Asian and Moroccan influences, incorporating a variety of colors, textures and ornate details.
Each of the 22 suites is individually designed and combines luxury with boho chic to create a truly unique and immersive experience. The hotel offers seclusion and a perfect retreat for those seeking a romantic getaway or a boutique stay.
We had the pleasure of staying in the Junior Plantation Suite which comes with a king size bed, stunning bathroom with open shower and premium toiletries such as shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. Every morning we started the day with a shot of Jammu juice, full of ginger, turmeric and lime, to energize us for the day, followed by a coffee, avocado on toast or an egg and salmon croissant.
The Balquisse Heritage Hotel has a total of three exquisite pools, each of which is unique: the large pool by the restaurant offers the perfect opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal while lying in the sun. The two smaller pools, nestled amongst lush greenery and flowering shrubs, offer a tranquil retreat for those seeking some privacy. Hotel guests can relax in the sun on comfortable loungers or find peace and quiet under traditional Balinese umbrellas. We loved spending our afternoons by the large pool near the restaurant and escaping to the smaller, secluded pools when we craved some peaceful downtime.
The Asam Garam restaurant at the Balquisse Heritage Hotel serves some of the best fusion food on the island. The menu includes both international and Indonesian specialties, with an emphasis on fresh ingredients sourced from local farmers. Balquisse Heritage Hotel also features a fully equipped yoga studio, providing a peaceful oasis for yogis of all levels. With floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking lush greenery, the space is filled with natural light and is also home to a fitness center.

Our stay at the Balquisse Heritage Hotel was truly amazing. From the moment we arrived, we were swept away by the romantic and luxurious atmosphere of the place. Our stylish room provided the perfect space to relax, including a large bathtub that we couldn't resist soaking in. The tranquil swimming pool and comfy loungers made for an incredibly peaceful atmosphere to relax in. We also took the opportunity to indulge in a Balinese massage at the Henna Spa, which was a truly indulgent treatment and rounded off our relaxation perfectly.
We will certainly remember this stay for a long time to come and are already looking forward to returning soon!
